It's my birthday! So I took the day off work. I think 'not having to work today is the only birthday present I could ask for' means I'm actually an adult now.

I turned 27 years old today! (God, I feel old.)

And then my parents bought me a hardcover copy of Neil Gaiman's new book, The Ocean At The End Of The Lane, which is a pretty great birthday present. Both because of my longstanding crush on Neil Gaiman's literary prowess and also because this is a pretty great book to own in hardcover.

Today's mail brought a somewhat-belated birthday present for me:
